On 19-21 April 2014, a group of
34 students and 6 lecturers from UNITEN participated in a trip called Journey of Knowledge. The
participants visited Rumah Barkat Anak Yatim, Bukit Chagar, Johor Bahru,
National University of Singapore (NUS), Sekolah Tun Fatimah (STF) ,and
Universiti Tekologi Malaysia (UTM). This event was jointly organized by
Foundation Club and other clubs under College of Foundation and General
Studies (CFGS).
The main objective of the trip is to share the knowledge among the universities
visited. In the hunger of knowledge, the participants did not forget the
children who are in need. They donated stationeries and food to Rumah Anak
Yatim Barkat, Bukit Chagar, Johor Bahru.
Visits to NUS and UTM gave a really valuable knowledge to the participants.
Knowledge sharing session held in both universities opened up participants'
mind about engineering and information technology. The group also visited
Sekolah Tun Fatimah, one of the best schools in Malaysia to expose an exciting
campus experience to the students.
The experience through the journey of knowledge increased awareness in
students that it was very important to learn from others especially from the
high-ranked university and contribute back to society through corporate social
responsibility programmes.
The programme director, Ammar Amjad Abdul Wahid said this programme is parallel
to the motto of UNITEN, Generates Professional. "I believe that this
programme really shows that UNITEN is generating professionals".
